Jun 06 - Terry Ross and Erik Soderberg (Liftech Consultants) deliver Fatigue Management Address
Terrence Ross and Erik Soderberg presented a Fatigue Management operating program to over 220 AIST members at the 2008 Crane Symposium. The presentation detailed management of the "end of life" expectations for older equipment as well as the challenges of cranes designed as damage tolerant. The address also outlined an engineered based inspection rooted in NDT, with a detailed review of the original crane design, the duty cycles seen and the relationship to expected fatigue wear. Both the mechanical and structural elements of the crane were discussed concerning fracture critical components. A supporting technical paper will be submitted to the crane committee for submission to the AIST.

Mar 13 - Heavy Crane Fatigue Assessment and Management System
They "don't build them like they use to" is the reality of today's overhead lifting equipment. HCSG, through its Corporate Projects Division, has partnered with LifTech International to introduce the Heavy Crane Fatigue Assessment and Management System. This revolutionary program is designed to quantitatively determine the remainder of the operational life, both structurally and mechanically, of overhead lifting equipment. This system is coupled with an assessment of the corrections necessary to prolong equipment life and allows for the development of an upgrade vs. replacement matrix. This unique solution will offer heavy duty crane operators an independent assessment to maximize the life of their current fleet. Look for a presentation of the system at the 2008 AIST Crane Symposium on June 1-3 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Feb 11 - API Member
Hoist and Crane Service Group is a member of API ( American Petroleum Institute ). HCSG will participate in policy issues, safety, industry statistics, certification programs, and standards through our committee assignments for the offshore, inland oil, and natural gas industries.
Nov 08 - Monitech Systems Division
The Monitech Systems Division of Hoist & Crane Service Group is proud to announce the release of Diagnostic Data Link (DDL). DDL is an on-board crane sensory system that allows for remote monitoring. The product line institutes 24/7 operational monitoring as an affordable retrofit on all brands and makes of overhead equipment. The system will constantly monitor the unit’s operating conditions and will record and analyze vital data through HCSG’s corporate computer network. The data will then be provided via the internet and e-mail updates to the customer and to local HCSG service locations. The system, four years in development, was designed to be an inexpensive on board continuous monitor. With the demands being forced on today's maintenance providers, this type of adherence to customer equipment can only be reached with the latest technology.
Monitech will now give HCSG the power to know when the vital parts on your equipment are nearing the end of their useful life. Adjustments and repairs can be made
before a costly breakdown occurs.
